MEET THE TEAM

Beauly at Lovat Bridge

Mark Williamson is both the Owner of Highland Chauffeur Drive, and the youngest member of the team. A keep-fit enthusiast, when time permits, he has had a consuming interest in all things car since his childhood. His initial interest in the mechanical workings was eventually replaced by a desire to own and drive, high-end Mercedes and other such vehicles, principally for Chauffeur Driving, Touring and Guiding; in 2008 he achieved that aim. Being a friendly well-read Invernesian, who has travelled extensively in the UK, and further afield, his wide geographical knowledge is complemented by a broad understanding of Scottish history, in particular, that associated with the infamous Highland clearances.

Alex Williamson is Mark’s father; he works part-time with Mark, in what is largely a family business, while also ensuring that the Fleet is always turned out impeccably. Alex is a qualified Cooper, having been trained in the original Speyside Cooperage at Craigellachie. He was also a Mashman for many years, hence his extensive knowledge of the Whisky Industry remains unsurpassed. His encyclopaedic knowledge of the area, and its history, makes for a highly interesting Tour, where Alex’s humour and wit is never far away. His warmth and driving skills are obvious from the outset.

Fraser Ross is a local man from Beauly, a royal marine veteran, and a qualified driver of articulated trucks. He is an accomplished amateur landscape photographer and keen amateur historian with particular emphasis on the Jacobites and post-Culloden era. In addition, he has a good knowledge of the social history of the Highlands and the Scottish Diaspora. Through his photography and love of fly-fishing, Fraser has an extensive geographical knowledge of the Highlands as well as the wildlife of the area and loves nothing more than to take clients to some of the gems, which can be just off the main tourist routes. He loves the odd anecdote too! Fraser is a very flexible individual who loves to use his knowledge to adapt to client requests.

Hector Walker is well-travelled across Scotland and started life in the Glasgow area, before moving North to Wick, he has lived in the Inverness area for the past seven years. Having 25 years of experience in the retail trade, before joining us, Hector is well used to dealing with the general public and brings years of experience to the business. He has a great sense of humour and likes nothing more than to keep customers happy. Hector works mainly as a chauffeur undertaking transfers but recently has started working on private tours of the local area. Like Mark, he enjoys some keep fit.

Geoff Crook is a former business banker and bookkeeper, who has joined the team in an administrative role, following his move from the Midlands of England in 2020. Having visited the Highlands extensively over the past 25 years he has an excellent knowledge of the flora and fauna of the area as well as the many distilleries! Apart from wildlife, chess is his great passion and he teaches the game to his many students online. As a result, Geoff brings plenty of organisation and strategy to his role as well as a very high level of customer service.

Mark has several other dependable drivers that assist as necessary. They all meet Mark’s exacting standards, hence you can be assured of a safe and memorable day out, irrespective of who is at the wheel.
